Dipimpin Ide, Menghikmati Ide dan Menjalankan Ide
Vol 2 No 1 (2025)Puji syukur kita panjatkan kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa atas hadirnya Jurnal Persatuan Nasional DPP PA GMNI edisi kedua.

Tahun Vivere Pericoloso
Vol 3 No 1 (2026)We offer our utmost gratitude to God Almighty for the publication of the Jurnal Persatuan Nasional (Journal of National Unity), Volume 3, Number 1, 2026. The release of this third edition coincides with a month of profound historical and ideological significance for the Indonesian nation. In June, Indonesia commemorates the Birth of Pancasila while honoring the birth of the Proclamator of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Sukarno, who bequeathed the foundational ideas of nationalism, self-reliance, and social justice for the journey of this republic. In that very spirit, this edition adopts the theme "Vivere Pericoloso", a term introduced by Bung Karno in his state address on August 17, 1964. Literally, Vivere Pericoloso means "to live dangerously." For Bung Karno, however, this term was not an invitation to live in fear, but a rallying cry for the Indonesian nation to possess the courage to face the challenges of the times, to stand on its own two feet, and to remain steadfast to the ideals of independence and the interests of the people. [1] More than six decades after the speech was delivered, the message of Vivere Pericoloso has precisely found its relevance once more. The world today is entering an era characterized by uncertainty and rapid change. Geopolitical conflicts, global economic rivalries, trade wars, energy and food crises, climate change, along with the disruptions of digital technology and artificial intelligence, have shaped a new landscape that impacts almost every aspect of human life. Indonesia does not stand outside this vortex of change. As a great nation, Indonesia faces challenges that are by no means light. Socio-economic inequality remains a piece of homework that has not been fully resolved. The digital transformation presents both opportunities and threats. The overwhelming torrent of information is frequently followed by the spread of disinformation, social polarization, and a strengthening tendency toward pragmatism in public life. On the other hand, this nation is also compelled to strengthen food security, safeguard territorial sovereignty, nurture diversity, and ensure that economic growth progresses hand-in-hand with the realization of social justice. It is within this context that Vivere Pericoloso acquires a new meaning. It is no longer just a historical slogan, but a moral calling for the Indonesian nation to remain courageous in thinking critically, acting visionarily, and guarding the direction of national development to ensure it remains grounded in Pancasila. The courage in question is not merely the bravery to face external threats, but also the courage to reflect upon and correct various issues that still hinder the realization of the ideals of independence. The third edition of the Jurnal Persatuan Nasional comes as part of that endeavor. The various writings presented here address a diverse range of strategic issues relating to ideology, geopolitics, food security, nationalism, religious moderation, social development, and the challenges faced by the younger generation in the digital era. Collectively, these articles represent an effort to critically read reality while offering constructive ideas for the future of Indonesia. The authors in this edition come from diverse backgrounds of experience and professions. They are GMNI alumni, academics, governance practitioners, social activists, media professionals, and national thinkers who share a deep concern for the nation's journey. This diversity of perspectives enriches the space for intellectual dialogue, which serves as the primary character of this journal. As an organization born out of the intellectual tradition of Bung Karno, the GMNI Alumni Association (Persatuan Alumni GMNI) believes that the national struggle is carried out not only through political activities and social movements, but also through the development of ideas, the production of knowledge, and the strengthening of public literacy. Therefore, the Jurnal Persatuan Nasional is presented as a convergence space for thoughts that fosters critical reflection, profound analysis, and recommendations that can contribute to national and state life. Amid a world that is increasingly complex and full of uncertainty, Indonesia needs more spaces for healthy dialogue, more enlightening ideas, and greater courage to safeguard the ideals of national unity. The spirit of Vivere Pericoloso reminds us that history is never built by those who choose silence, but by those who dare to think, to struggle, and to take responsibility for the future of their nation. Finally, we hope that the presence of this journal can enrich the treasury of national thought, strengthen ideological insights, and inspire the birth of a generation of fighter-thinkers and thinker-fighters who remain loyal to the ideals of unity, sovereignty, and social justice for all the people of Indonesia. Happy reading. Merdeka! The Editorial Board
